MSW

the spectacular Scale Model World for
Space Flight and Astronomy!

A project of peregrinus interstellar.

Next steps

2010 will be an exciting year for MiniSpaceWorld, with focus on the Moon. We have quite a lot on our agenda:
  • Photo exhibition in Budapest featuring the 2009 Design Contest
  • Presentation of Team Wolf's Freedom, the winner of the Budapest MSW Prize 2009, in the round table discussion to be held in the City Hall. In this event Budapest representatives - amongst them Deputy Major Imre Ikvai-Szabó who handed over the prize at the Award Ceremony -, well-known urban experts and the public will discuss Budapest's mid- and long range development plans, strategies and projects.
  • Design and build the first MSW on Tour mobile showcase featuring the Moon and the Google Lunar X Prize
  • Design of round 60-80 m2 layout surface with Astronomy and Moon themes for the Futura Science Centre (link in Hungarian) in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary (expected opening of the centre in spring 2012)
  • Incorporation of an MSW development and marketing limited company in the UK Limited
  • and, of course, our MSW Design Contest 2010 - this time about the Moon!

MiniSpaceWorld (MSW) aims to create a lively, interactive scale model world for Space flight and Astronomy, similar to big Model Railway Layouts. MiniSpaceWorld will use an interdisciplinary Ansatz to address  various cultural and technical aspects of these topics; it will help to get natural and human sciences closer to each other. Knowledge transfer embedded into an attractive leisure time activity will also help in raising sustainable interests for the natural and engineering sciences for pupils. Explicitly featuring everyday products originated from Spaceflight, Space Research and Astronomy – and also using them in the exhibition's operations - will enhance public awareness of the huge potential of Space and acceptance of spending taxpayers' money on Space Activities as well.
